COVID-19 AUGUST UPDATE – VOLUNTEERING

Thank you for your ongoing commitment to the club. Over the past few weeks the number of volunteers coming forward has significantly increased – this is great for the club but presents us with some unique challenges due to COVID-19 Excluding members of the coaching team and those undergoing ‘training’, the club are limited to two volunteers per session on the viewing area. This limitation is to ensure that swimmers have enough space on the viewing area to drop off their belongings and get changed for sessions. The roles of these volunteers are to monitor social distancing and/or sign swimmers […]

COVID-19 AUGUST UPDATE – Training Timetable Phase 3 (from 1st September 2020)

Thank you all for your continued cooperation with the training plan since our return to pool! We have been very fortunate with the support that Hambleton District council, and in particular the management team at Northallerton Leisure Centre, have provided us with. As a coach, I remain proud of what swimmers are achieving. The swimmers have come back in a good position and it feels like the swimmers have improved drastically over these first few weeks in technical outcomes. Fitness seems to be improving and is getting back somewhat closer to ‘pre COVID’ pool fitness levels in some squads. The […]

The community-based club has topped up the grant with money from its own 2019 fundraising efforts, to buy state of the art starting blocks – the first of its type in Hambleton. The blocks which have been custom built for Bedale Leisure Centre will […]

Life without swimming has been a big adjustment for the youngsters, some of whom train up to four times a week.  Pools had expected to be allowed to open on 4th July, but the government delayed its decision, prompting a nationwide campaign led by Swim England to #OpenOurPools, which featured pleas from the sport’s biggest names, including Olympians Adam Peaty […]
