COVID-19 June Update – Part 2

Please see the below update for NASC members and parents/carers
Extensive planning is currently underway based on the Swim England guidance released on the 15th June. We have held extensive talks with the Leisure Centre management team and we are progressing in a timely and positive manner. We are anticipating a 4th July return date with a schedule for training to be released in due course. Below is a summary of our current planning, this is subject to review and amendments:
  • NASC return to pool date will be on or shortly after 4th July. This is subject to government guidance allowing the reopening of leisure centres, and the leisure centre being ready to accommodate customers.
  • NASC are currently reviewing operating procedures and risk assessments to ensure that we meet the governing body guidance.
  • As part of the return to pool plan we need to plan our training offer so we can conduct further risk assessments, plan a training schedule and assess financial viability. It is also worth noting at this stage our anticipated vision for the return…
    • Swimmer numbers per training session will be significantly limited inline with the guidance released from the governing body
    • Spectating of training sessions will be inline with the guidance
    • Swimmers will be most likely asked to arrive ‘beach ready’ to sessions
    • Training sessions have been planned as a gradual fitness regime with a significant focus on skills and stroke mechanics
    • We will not be able to lend equipment out during sessions or allow members to borrow from others
    • The risk assessments completed will be reviewed every month as a minimum expectation and inline with any new guidance released
  • NASC are liaising with other local clubs to share best practice where appropriate
  • Members are requested to complete the survey.
It is our intention at this time to ensure that we are ready with a full plan communicated to members and approved by our own committee, the governing body where required and the centre before the end of June. Once this is completed the relevant information will be shared to the membership base on email and on the website:

Should you require assistance completing this form or have further questions please email the clubs general email contact

Members Survey
Please complete the following survey by 5pm Tuesday 23rd June to allow us to facilitate our committee meeting discussions that evening.
A further survey assessing medical/health will be distributed to those intending on restarting training in July based on a Swim England template.

Kit Lists

Where possible please could members consult the kit lists available on the website to ensure that individual kit bags are available. NASC and the centre will be unable to lend equipment out for club training sessions due to hygiene reasons at this stage.
