Saturday 26th September NASC Competitive Skills Workshop 1-2.30pm https://forms.gle/zFNVP6Vg8Y7B15eb8 NASC are providing throughout 2020 a series of competitive skills workshops to enable swimmers to have more time to practice. Sessions are to run at Bedale Leisure Centre 1.00-2.30pm The session is aimed at those actively competing at Open level competitions and above. All Swimmers should be aged between 10 and 16 by 31/12/2020. NASC Swimmer Selected for National Programme

A swimmer from Northallerton Amateur Swimming Club (NASC) has been selected for the Swim England National Development Programme. James Wyllie, aged 14, has been selected for the programme based on his ongoing performance and outcomes in the sport of competitive swimming. The National Development Programme is the third step on the Swim England Extended Talent Pathway – but the first on the national framework. NASC Competitive Skills Workshops Announced

Below are a number of sessions available to sign up to. These will be low intensity skills sessions aimed at developing technique and offering additional pool time to members. The sessions are ideal for every swimmer in Junior Squad and above. Initially these sessions will be 1.5 hours long and based at Bedale Leisure Centre. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to the club. Over the past few weeks the number of volunteers coming forward has significantly increased – this is great for the club but presents us with some unique challenges due to COVID-19 Excluding members of the coaching team and those undergoing ‘training’, the club are limited to two volunteers per session on the viewing area. Thank you all for your continued cooperation with the training plan since our return to pool! We have been very fortunate with the support that Hambleton District council, and in particular the management team at Northallerton Leisure Centre, have provided us with. As a coach, I remain proud of what swimmers are achieving. The swimmers have come back in a good position and it feels like the swimmers have improved drastically over these first few weeks in technical outcomes. MAKING A DIFFERENCE BY ‘STEPPING INTO SWIMMING’

Swimmers across the district are set to benefit from Hambleton District Council’s ‘Making a Difference’ fund. Northallerton Amateur Swimming Club (NASC) has been awarded £3,500 to help develop their ‘Step into Swimming’ project which aims to give swimmers access to specialist equipment, further training, workshops and most importantly, an introduction to competitive skills for new swimmers. The community-based club has topped up the grant with money from its own 2019 fundraising efforts, to buy state of the art starting blocks – the first of its type in Hambleton.
